Last year's Hajj was performed by about 2.5 million pilgrims from all over the world, but due to the ongoing epidemic in the world, many people will not be able to travel to the country to perform Hajj this year.
The decision was made on Monday because of the Corona virus epidemic released by Saudi Arabia and to protect public health globally.

The Saudi government has made the decision "in light of the continuing epidemic in epidemics and large gatherings and the dangers of the spread of the corona virus."
A statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on the 2020 Hajj said,
"A very limited numbers of pilgrim of different nationalities already residing in Saudi Arabia will be able to do this for Hajj. The decision has been taken to ensure that health is done safely from a public health point of view while All preventive measures and necessary social distance protocols should be observed.
This year's Hajj will begin on July 28 and end on August 2, 2020.
